The NYU Core Curriculum (CORE) is a set of general education requirements that immerse students in comparative, critical, exploratory, and interdisciplinary studies and seeks to build students' knowledge base through sequentially-designed courses in the liberal arts. The Core Curriculum represents the essence of the American tradition of liberal arts education – the humanities, arts, social sciences, mathematics, and the natural sciences – areas of inquiry that are pursued for the sake of expanding human knowledge, rather than as training for a particular profession.

Steinhardt undergraduate students may use NYU study away course work to satisfy the Core Curriculum according to the below Core Curriculum Equivalency Designations.
