Steinhardt Research Challenge Grants
Steinhardt Research Challenge Grants are intended to support faculty investigators by offering competitive awards in five specific funding priority areas: arts and culture, community collaboration, global research, research development, and cross-departmental collaboration.
Steinhardt Diversity Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
This award augments the Provost’s Postdoctoral Program for Academic Diversity. We regard this program as an opportunity to attract to our intellectual community those promising scholars whose backgrounds, research experience, and training will contribute significantly to academic excellence at NYU while also strengthening our commitment to inclusion and diversity by bringing in scholars from underrepresented minority groups to Steinhardt.
IHDSC Seed Awards
IHDSC is committed to funding new projects that bridge multiple domains of expertise and further the mission of the Institute. Through collaborative and interdisciplinary research, IHDSC works to bridge the disconnect between the science of human development and policies and practices that affect children, youth, adults, and families in diverse contexts.
Griffiths Research Award
The Griffiths Award, open to all full-time faculty, recognizes faculty members for their research in advancing their fields of knowledge and professional practice.
Carras Award
The Carras award for promising young scholars is given to a member of the faculty who is in the first or second year of a pre-tenure appointment.
Professional Development Fund
The Steinhardt Full-Time Professional Development Fund seeks to enhance the school’s intellectual life by supporting faculty research, artistic work, and professional development.
Teaching Excellence Award
The Teaching Excellence Award is given to full-time Steinhardt faculty members who demonstrate teaching excellence. Award winners receive a specially designed certificate and a monetary award.
Research/Program Affinity Groups
The Office of Research invites applications for The Research/Program Affinity funding opportunity is meant to facilitate connections between faculty who might not otherwise have the opportunity to collaborate.
Grant Strengthening Professional Development Funds
Grant Strengthening Professional Development awards can be used to support the review of a planned grant submission by a senior researcher in the field and the editing of a grant application by a professional editor.
Student Opportunities
Steinhardt USG Professional Development Grants
USG professional development funds are available to Steinhardt undergraduate students of good academic standing to help offset the cost of various professional activities related to their studies.
GSO Competitive Professional Development Grants
GSO professional development funds are available to Steinhardt graduate students to help defray the cost of various professional activities related to graduate student studies.
