Facilities Administrative Services

The Steinhardt Facilities Administrative Services team supports the school by managing physical spaces, maintenance, and campus services that keep Steinhardt safe, efficient, and welcoming. We serve as the primary contact for space planning, maintenance, keys, moving, and other facilities-related needs, working closely with university partners to ensure smooth operations.

Services Include:

  • Space Management & Planning: Overseeing office assignments, common areas, and specialized facilities to meet academic and operational needs
  • Building & Maintenance: Routine repairs, preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and upkeep of classrooms, labs, offices, and grounds
  • Keys & Access Control: Issuing, tracking, and collecting keys or card access; coordinating rekeying or lock changes
  • Moving & Furniture Support: Coordinating office and lab relocations, delivering and assembling furniture, and reconfiguring spaces for events or meetings
  • Capital Improvements: Supporting minor renovations and capital projects in partnership with Facilities Capital Management (FCM)
  • Ticket Requests: Logging, prioritizing, and tracking service requests to ensure timely resolutions.

The Steinhardt Facilities team is committed to delivering prompt, reliable service and maintaining spaces that support teaching, research, and community life.

Steinhardt Facilities Administrative Services believes a well-run campus goes beyond buildings; it thrives on sustainability, safety, and preparedness. Below are some essential NYU resources we rely on and promote:

Sustainability

NYU’s Office of Sustainability leads efforts to reduce energy use, support recycling programs, and advance environmentally responsible practices. Stenhart Facilities aligns with these initiatives by integrating energy-efficient systems and sustainable operations across our buildings.

Campus Safety

NYU’s Campus Safety team is committed to maintaining a secure environment for students, faculty, and staff. From building access control to on-campus patrols, their work ensures our spaces remain safe and protected. Stenhart Facilities supports these efforts by maintaining secure infrastructure and coordinating closely on safety protocols.

Emergency Preparedness

NYU’s emergency preparedness initiatives equip the community with the knowledge and tools to respond effectively in critical situations. This includes active-threat response training, campus-wide alerts, and evacuation planning. Stenhart Facilities collaborates closely with emergency planners to ensure our buildings are ready and responsive in the event of a crisis.

We encourage all community members to explore these NYU resources to stay informed, involved, and empowered.
