The NYU Steinhardt 2024 Spring Jazz Festival will feature both graduate and undergraduate Jazz Studies majors, spanning eight days and three venues. The final three concerts consist of jazz students performing in small groups (quartets to sextets), led by our world-renowned faculty as well as our two jazz orchestras. The All-University Jazz Orchestra includes students from across the university, no matter their major of study. This group focuses on traditional big band music, highlighting many of the greatest composers of jazz music. The NYU Jazz Orchestra (NYUJO) features some of the program’s top student musicians, and focuses on performing modern big band music and composers. This year, the NYUJO welcomes feature guest artist and faculty member, Sara Caswell!

The 8pm concerts in Frederick Loewe Theatre follow this schedule:

4/30 - Dion Tucker Ensemble, All-University Jazz Orchestra

5/1 - NYU Wayne Shorter Ensemble, NYU Jazz Orchestra featuring Sara Caswell

5/2 - Martin Wind Ensemble, Patricia Brennan Ensemble, Green Light Ensemble

The concerts are free and open to NYU affiliates and visitors. Seating is first-come, first-served.
