The Patricia Brennan Ensemble, World Music Ensemble, and Marta Sanchez Ensemble each perform as part of the NYU Jazz Ensemble Winter Concert Series. The Patricia Brennan Ensemble explores compositions by contemporary and influential improvisers as well as standard jazz repertoire with an open minded and creative approach. The World Music Ensemble explores the fusing of various world folk music with jazz improvisation and aesthetics. The group will focus on Balkan styles and use traditional, contemporary and original pieces to gain an understanding of odd meters and melodic and harmonic conventions. The Marta Sanchez Ensemble is brand new to the jazz program, and is being featured in performance for the first time.

Admission is free. Registration is required.
