NYU Steinhardt welcomes China’s award-winning Guangdong Experimental High School Choir, led by conductor Xie Mingjing, for a special afternoon celebrating music, pedagogy, and friendship. Moderated by NYU Steinhardt faculty member, Ana Flavia Zuim, and Young People's Chorus of New York City’s Artistic Director, Francisco J. Núñez, the program will open with a performance by the acclaimed Guangdong choir, followed with performances by NYU Steinhardt Vocal Performance students, a presentation on current research in voice pedagogy at NYU, and a choral masterclass. The event will close with an open discussion between singers from both institutions — an exchange of artistry, technique, and cross-cultural connection through the shared language of song.
