Cognitive science is the study of how people learn and make decisions. ECT’s Computational Logic Lab studies how LLMs learn and make decisions.

Turns out that you can learn a lot about human learning and thinking by studying the behavior of modern Large Language Models.

This brown bag will be an informal discussion of a half dozen lab projects focusing on how these generative models make ethical decisions, why most models lean to the left politically, how religious training influences model behavior, and which neurons light up when a model has to make a difficult decision.
