Puerto Rican pianist José Ramos Santana, a leading interpreter of Spanish repertoire and recipient of the 2020 Isaac Albéniz Medal, is the founder and artistic director of the Puerto Rico International Piano Festival and an internationally sought-after performer and teacher. He has appeared as a soloist with major orchestras including the New York and Royal Philharmonics, Detroit, Saint Louis, Baltimore, San Antonio, and many others across the U.S. and Europe, and has performed globally with ensembles such as the Moscow Philharmonic and the Orchestra of L’Hermitage. His collaborations span renowned conductors and artists such as Krzysztof Penderecki, John Adams, Dennis Russell Davies, Jerzy Semkow, Dimitri Kitaenko, Joseph Silverstein, Arto Noras, Gregory Zhislin, and Vladimir Viardo.
