Often called “the music of Mexico,” mariachi is a globally treasured art form that has taken on a unique life in the United States, becoming a vital part of the American soundscape, shaping and being shaped by traditions from country and música mexicana to pop and jazz. In this performance, Mariachi Violetas de NYU showcases classic and contemporary styles, inviting audiences into the vibrant, communal spirit of mariachi—a tradition now woven into the cultural identity of our country.

This event forms part of Carnegie Hall’s United in Sound: America at 250 festival.

Admission is free. Registration is required.
