In collaboration with the Guggenheim Museum, students from the Program in Jazz Studies will become part of Rashid Johnson's A Poem for Deep Thinkers — a site-specific installation that transforms the Guggenheim’s iconic rotunda. The expansive work fills the entire atrium with video projections, sculptures, ceramics, and art objects. It also features the piano, which is hidden within a plant-covered grid structure. For approximately 40 minutes, the pianists' performances will animate the installation, creating a dialogue between visual art and live music.
