School counselors are critical resources for children and their families, helping students achieve their goals. In this master’s program – which offers an option to focus on bilingual student populations – you’ll get the education and clinical training to become a professional pre-K–12 school counselor, working in public and private schools.

This dual degree will also provide you with a deeper knowledge of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender population and will help you develop skills to provide more effective services to LGBTQ+ people and the organizations serving them.

This leads to eligibility for New York State certification as a school counselor for grades pre-K–12. Learn more about certification in states outside of New York.
