NYU Steinhardt’s Department of Occupational Therapy offers a special admissions option that allows therapists with a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy to apply directly to our clinical doctoral degree and earn a master's degree during the educational process.
Our MA and OTD in Occupational Therapy provide the opportunity to advance your knowledge and critical thinking via course work that builds a foundation of critical analysis, evidence-based practice, ethics, and theory. The OTD prepares advanced occupational therapists to deliver, present, and collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals to provide high-quality care.
Benefits of a Combined MA/OTD Application Option
Occupational therapists holding a bachelor's degree can apply directly to our clinical doctoral OTD
After completing the MA degree, you can continue uninterrupted onto the OTD without having to submit another admissions application
Full-time students can complete the two degrees in 2 ½ years of study
Part-time study is available to accommodate working students
