Throughout the program, you’ll gain a deep understanding of adolescent development alongside specialized content mastery in your chosen discipline, whether in World Languages (Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Spanish), STEM (Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Mathematics, Physics), or Humanities (English, Social Studies). You’ll learn to translate educational theory and research directly into classroom practice, building strong, supportive relationships with students and families to foster engagement, well-being, and academic success.
The curriculum prepares you to design effective content-rich lesson plans that integrate culturally sustaining pedagogies, experiential learning, and innovative educational technology. You’ll cultivate a thoughtful, equitable, and inclusive teaching practice, learning how to critically evaluate your teaching methods and advocate for fair and just outcomes for all learners.
