Trauma: Theoretical and Clinical Perspectives

Study of the human response to trauma with emphasis on the biologic, psychodynamic and social consequences. Child sexual abuse, terrorism, rape, war and disasters are some examples of the traumas considered. Consideration of theories, dilemmas, and clinical perspectives. Specific attention to legal issue, reporting, identification, assessment, techniques for interviewing and evidence gathering, non-traumatic and traumatic memory, issues and techniques in treatment, and prevention.
