Research Description/Bio:
Christina Wusinich (they/them) is a doctoral student in the Clinical/Counseling Psychology program working with mentors Dr. Alisha Ali and Dr. Lisa Suzuki. Christina’s research focuses on Transformative Mental Health and liberatory education using participatory and mixed methods approaches.
Before NYU, Christina conducted research across disciplines through projects related to depression, homelessness, community mental health, health psychology, and affective neuroscience. In 2016, they obtained an interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree at NYU’s Gallatin School of individualized study, studying narratives of depression through psychology, philosophy, critical theory, literature, and neuroscience. In 2018, they completed their master’s in Neuroscience and Education at Columbia University’s Teachers College.
