Research Description/Bio: Andy Chae (he/his/him) is a part-time Ph.D. student in NYU Steinhardt’s Sociology of Education program. His research focuses on the experiences of Asian American faculty, administrators, and students at U.S. institutions of higher education. Before his doctoral studies, Andy received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Boston University.
In addition to his educational pursuits, Andy is an immensely passionate student affairs administrator and has experience in academic advising, admissions, financial aid, student leadership, student activities, and residence life. Currently, he is the Director of Graduate Student Life at Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. In this role, he strives to foster and create a vibrant student life experience for graduate students across 10 different academic departments and programs at Columbia Engineering.
