Timothy Carreiro, Ph.D.

Dr. Carreiro is  trained in the specialty of Counseling Psychology, receiving his M.A. in Counseling Psychology from New York University and his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston. After earning his master’s degree, he practiced clinically for over a decade before returning to graduate school to obtain his doctorate. He has worked at various LGBTQA mental health clinics throughout NYC and has been the director of mental health services at a LGBTQA center in NYC. He has also worked at numerous university counseling centers, including The Stone Center at Wellesley College, Emerson College, UMass Boston, and Pace University. Dr. Carreiro completed a Post Doctoral Fellowship at The William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis & Psychology and is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor.  He has extensive training in Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT) and his research has centered around LGBTQA Health, Racial Identity Development, and Trauma.

Dr. Carreiro teaches courses such as Vocational Development. Practicum and Internship.
