Shonelle George is a clinical psychologist with experience across a variety of clinical settings. She is particularly passionate about supporting first-generation and equity-deserving college students as they navigate the unique challenges of higher education. Through her philanthropic work, Dr. George has delivered presentations and facilitated workshops throughout Latin America, South America, the Caribbean, the United States, and Canada.
At New York University, Dr. George has taught a broad range of courses, including Human Growth and Development, Theory and Process, Cross-Cultural Counseling, Psychopathology, and Ethics in Professional Practice. Known for her engaging teaching style, she challenges students to think critically, apply theoretical concepts to real-world contexts, and develop as reflective practitioners.
Her research interests include intergenerational trauma, rejection sensitivity, attachment styles, relational trauma, and parenting.
