Dr. Michael McCutcheon has been teaching at NYU since 2011. As an instructor in the Dept. of Applied Psychology, Dr. McCutcheon has twice won the Department's Teaching Award (2014 & 2019). He has taught both undergraduate and master's students in courses devoted to ethics in the counseling profession; foundations of mental health counseling; group dynamics; and individual counseling skills.
He has appeared in the media as a lifestyle and vocational expert for various mainstream publications, including The New York Times; The Washington Post/Associated Press; and The New York Post. He has served as a contributing writer for Out Magazine and has been a featured guest on National Public Radio (NPR).
