Marilyn Nonken, Professor of Music & Music Education and Chair of the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions, received a Coup de Cœur from the Académie Charles Cros for her latest recording, Hugues Dufourt: L’Origine du Monde (Métier, 2025), honored in the contemporary music category. The album features five solo piano works and Dufourt’s piano concerto, recorded with the NYU Contemporary Music Ensemble at the Paulson Center under the direction of Jonathan Haas, Director of Percussion with engineering by Paul Geluso, Director of Music Technology. The Académie Charles Cros, often described as the French Grammys, announced this year’s awards on January 28.
