Bringing Together Rehabilitative Research across Disciplines: Spring Research Showcase 2025

Posted

The Center of Health and Rehabilitation Research (CoHRR) held its annual Spring Research Showcase this year on April 25, bringing together students and faculty engaged in rehabilitation research across diverse disciplines, from physical therapy to communicative sciences.

This year’s showcase featured twenty-three posters across two sessions, highlighting a wide range of innovative projects. Topics included the rehabilitative potential of music for individuals with Parkinson’s, strategies for diabetes prevention, and the use of 3D printing to further enhance mobility aids, among many others.

The event included a networking lunch and a student panel, where PhD candidates who had successfully applied for major research grants shared insights into the application and funding process.

A highlight of the day was the announcement of CoHRR’s 2025 Seed Award Competition winners, each of whom gave a presentation on their research projects:

  • Andrea Glenn - Characterizing Plant Protein Consumption in Residents of New York City
  • Anat Lubetzky - Unraveling Hidden Factors in Fall Risk and Fall Prevention
  • Deborah Olarte - Exploring Principal Buy-In and Parent Perceptions to Improve School Meal Participation in New York City Public Schools.

CoHRR is grateful to everyone who presented or attended for making this year's showcase a success.
