Chirinos Converses With 2023 Winner of Best Song for Social Change

Presented in collaboration with the Recording Academy and Lincoln Center, the program, Music for Social Good, will be hosted by Carlos Chirinos, Assistant Professor and Director of the NYU Music and Social Change Lab. Dr. Chirinos will sit down for a conversation with the 2023 winner of Best Song for Social Change Special Merit Award, K'naan. Their discussion will include the emotional characteristics of songs that make a social impact and inspire people. This discussion is part of Dr. Chirinos' ongoing research into Songs for Social Change that led to the creation of the Grammy Special Merit Award in 2022.
