Seminal Readings in Communicative Sciences and Disorders

This doctoral level seminar will introduce students to some of the important seminal writings in communicative sciences and disorders. The articles chosen for study will provide historical perspectives and exposure to current ongoing debates in the literature. Each week students will be responsible for reading the assigned articles and attending class prepared for discussion. In addition to providing students with the opportunity to develop skills as critical consumers and disseminators of research, this course provides a review of material that is relevant for providing breadth of knowledge to individuals seeking a doctoral degree in communicative sciences and disorders.
