This course approaches media from queer, trans, and intersectional lenses to examine how LGBTQIA+ identities, cultures, and relations of power are shaped through media, technology, and communication. Students are introduced to foundational and emerging texts at the intersection of media studies and queer and trans studies, equipping them to understand the impact of media and communication on queer and trans histories, lives, and futures.
