Bassoonist Marc Goldberg’s work as musician and educator has taken him throughout the country and around the world with a host of premiere ensembles. The newest member of the renowned NY Woodwind Quintet, he is the principal bassoonist of the American Ballet Theater, Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, the NYC Opera, and a member of the American Symphony Orchestra. Previously the associate principal bassoonist with the NY Philharmonic (2000-2002), he has been a frequent guest of the Metropolitan Opera, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and Orpheus, touring with these ensembles across four continents and joining them on numerous recordings. Known internationally, Mr. Goldberg has also been invited to make guest principal bassoon appearances in Tokyo with Seiji Ozawa’s Tokyo Opera Nomuri Festival Orchestra, the Mito Chamber Orchestra, and in Korea with Myung Whun Chung and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. Solo appearances include performances with the Brandenburg Ensemble at Boston’s Symphony Hall and NY’s Avery Fisher Hall, and performances throughout the US, in South America, and across the Pacific Rim with the American Symphony Orchestra, Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, Long Island Philharmonic, Jupiter Symphony, NY Chamber Soloists, Sea Cliff Chamber Players, NY Symphonic Ensemble, and the NY Scandia Symphony. He has been a guest of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Da Camera Society of Houston, the St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble, Musicians from Marlboro, the Brentano Quartet, Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Band, Music@Menlo, the Boston Chamber Music Society, and the Eastern Shore Chamber Music Festival.
