Aaron Cohen is a partner at The Room, where he leads seminars and other events for the country’s most senior-level marketing executives. Before The Room, Aaron was the CEO of 4 digital media and two technology companies. He has sold startups to Oxygen, GrubHub, and GoFish. AnyClip, a short-form video licensing solution, remains a thriving company, while two of its startups, Concrete Media and Soundwall, have since ceased operations. Aaron knows success and failure.
In 2008, Aaron began a second career as a college professor at New York University, where he teaches the Rise of Internet Media – a course that explores the history and rapidly changing digital revolution. Nearly 1,000 Rise alumni work at Google, LinkedIn, Meta, Amazon, and dozens of other media and technology companies. Over the years, Aaron’s course has featured scores of industry luminaries, including Kara Swisher, Neil Vogel, Jay Walker, David Karp, Ken Auletta, David Kirkpatrick, Jason Hirschhorn, Tim O’Reilly, and Reed Hundt. Aaron has spoken at dozens of conferences. His TED talk culminated the first-ever TEDx event in San Francisco.
Aaron’s greatest joy is seeing young people thrive and grow. Today, his entrepreneurial energy is focused on teaching, coaching, and motivating the world’s young people to courageously face the enormous problems that entrepreneurs and leaders must solve.
