Michael Reinert is a well-regarded music industry attorney and executive who has been in the business for over forty-five years. Starting with his years as an on-air talent and manager in New Orleans through decades at major labels and then in representing some of the biggest names in music, Michael has always been a vociferous advocate for the rights and goals of musicians. Michael’s label experience includes stints at Atlantic, Electra, PolyGram, Verve, London, Mercury Nashville, Universal, Motown and Republic Records. He has also worked with Cash Money Records from its earliest days as an independent powerhouse through its sale to Universal Music Group. In addition to the countless artists he worked with during his label years, he also represents major stars in Hip-Hop (ATL Jacob, Manny Fresh), Country (Trace Adkins) and perhaps the greatest recording artist of all time, Stevie Wonder. Michael was previously an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Cardozo School of Law and is a frequent lecturer at law schools around the country. He is also a contributing editor to the Practicing Law Institute. He has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career for both his work as an industry leader as well as for his philanthropic work in cancer charities.
