Teaching and Learning

Catherine is a doctoral student in the Department of Teaching and Learning, specializing in Literacy Education. Her research focuses on improving reading comprehension, particularly for multilingual learners, and the teacher preparation and capacity building necessary for classroom environments that support improved literacy outcomes. Catherine holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Harvard College and an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She has taught multilingual learners at both the primary and secondary levels in Cairo, Egypt and Boston, Massachusetts. Catherine has also worked in teacher training and capacity building as a research assistant at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a research fellow with the Boston Public Schools, a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Argentina, and a Trustman Fellow in Bolivia.
