Yi Wu is a PhD student in Music Technology at the Music and Audio Research Laboratory (MARL) at New York University, advised by Dr. Agnieszka Roginska. His research centers on spatial audio and machine learning, with a focus on Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Fordham University, with a minor in Mathematics, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University. He earned his Master of Science in Music Technology at the Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology (GTCMT), under the guidance of Dr. Jason Freeman.
Yi has interned with companies like Bose Corporation and worked as a technical sound designer in the gaming industry at Hi-Rez Studios before joining MARL. His work contributed to the release of two major titles, where he played key roles in sound design, technical implementation, and R&D. Additionally, he served as a research assistant to Dr. Henry Han at Baylor University, focusing on machine learning algorithms for small and nonlinear data, with applications in audio content analysis.
