Sinead Harrington, OTD, OTR/L, CAPS received a Bachelors in Health Science and then a Masters of Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University. She received her doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University.
Her doctoral project investigated how occupational therapy interventions could support more effective self-management and better health advocacy for clients with COPD. More recently, she has presented at national conferences about the use of social media by occupational therapy professionals and how artificial intelligence will impact the profession of occupational therapy as well as occupational therapy education.
Prior to NYU, Sinead was a full time Assistant Professor at Iona University for their Masters of Occupational Therapy program. She also has served as an adjunct faculty member at Mercy University. She recently completed an advanced certification in aging in place (CAPS) which allows her to better evaluate and match the needs of clients to their home environment. Sinead also serves an ACOTE accreditation reviewer which provides her with the opportunity to evaluate and visit occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant schools around the United States.
