Giovana Morais is a Computer Science PhD Student working with Dr. Magdalena Fuentes. Her background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar Sorocaba) and a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Universidade de São Paulo (USP), where she conducted research on self-supervised tempo estimation methods.
In addition to her academic pursuits, she worked in the industry as a Data Scientist with a focus on recommendation systems at Gympass, and as a Machine Learning Engineer for audio systems at Stattus4, both Brazilian startups.
Giovana's research interests revolve around Music Information Retrieval and Machine Listening, with a particular interest in exploring applications within Latin music genres.
