Leonard Santos (he/him) oversees the daily operations of the MCC MediaLab as the Media Lab Administrator, ensuring its compliance with regulatory protocols and managing the Lab's extensive equipment inventory. He coordinates logistics for departmental events and workshops and collaborates with Steinhardt IT to meet technology needs while prioritizing equipment safety and integrity. Leonard also delivers creative technology workshops for students, providing project consultation and conducting comprehensive training sessions for faculty, staff, and administrators to enhance the department's technological capabilities. Outside of this role, Leonard instructs students in practice-based digital media courses as an Adjunct Professor while pursuing an M.S. in Data Analysis and Visualization with an Advanced Certificate in Interactive Technology and Pedagogy from the CUNY Graduate Center.
Leonard holds a B.S. and M.A. from NYU's Department of Media, Culture, and Communication. He has been part of the MCC MediaLab for almost seven years, starting as an undergraduate Lab Assistant in 2017. Over time, he advanced to the role of Senior Lab Assistant, then a graduate Research Assistant, and until recently, the Lab Coordinator. Previously, Leonard also served MCC as a Visiting Assistant Professor and was an NYU Master in Residence in Weber Shandwickâs Technology and DEI teams.
