Occupational Therapy

Lorene is board certified in pediatrics from the American Occupational Therapy Association and has earned her certification in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT). Additionally, Dr. Janowski is SOS trained and has authored a children’s book on the various ways in which children learn. Her true dedication is found working with children and their families to improve their overall quality of life and independence particularly children with developmental delays, orthopedic conditions, cerebral palsy, and sensory integration dysfunction in which she uses her skills specializating in aquatic therapy as an adjunct to land-based therapy services.

She is an adjunct professor at NYU’s Occupational Therapy department teaching master level students the fundamentals of pediatric practice. She also collaborates in the HSS Department of Neurology, focusing on adult neuro-rehabilitation specifically patients with ALS, and has previously partnered with one of the lead hand physicians for surgical intervention for children with hemiparesis, cerebral palsy.

Lorene has collaborated internationally with the Children of China Pediatric Foundation educating therapists in a Chinese orphanage both in person and remotely. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Scranton and holds a clinical doctorate in Occupational Therapy from New York University.
