Kirsten Munro has over 30 years of experience in the non-profit arts and culture sector, with a commitment to building organizational capacity through strategically aligning program and fund development. She is currently Senior Director of Development at The Joyce Theater Foundation, overseeing both annual funding and raising capital support for The Joyce’s new project, the New York Center for Creativity & Dance. Prior to joining The Joyce in 2023, she served in leadership development roles at BAM and Baryshnikov Arts Center. Other development positions include at Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Kirsten began her arts administration and non-profit management career working with Czech and Slovak cultural and environmental exchange programs at Foundation for a Civil Society, building on her work teaching in the former Czechoslovakia following the 1989 Velvet Revolution. She has also served on numerous grant review panels, including for the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and New York State Council on the Arts. She holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BA from Pomona College.
