Jordy Freed is an award-winning brand marketing and business development executive with over 15 years of experience at the intersection of technology and culture. Currently Head of Brand, Business Development, Partner Marketing & Strategy at Sony, he leads global campaigns, strategic partnerships, and product innovation across entertainment, consumer, and pro audio tech for Sony’s Personal Entertainment Business.
Widely recognized as a strategic leader in brand marketing and innovation, Jordy has been featured on Spin’s “Top 25 Most Influential People in Music 2025,” Billboard's 2025 Branding Power Players, Adweek 50 for 2024, Business Insider’s “14 Rising Stars of Brand Marketing” (2024), Variety’s “Hollywood New Leaders” (2023), and received Pollstar’s 2024 NextGen Award, along with multiple Clio Awards for breakthrough marketing work.
Throughout his career, Jordy has brokered and led impactful partnerships with leading platforms and brands including Spotify, Amazon Music, SoundCloud, Intel, Pernod Ricard, the European Union Government, NHK, BandLab Technologies, and New York University.
At Sony, he spearheaded the global “For The Music” campaign and launched product collaborations tailored to new generations of creators. His artist partnerships include Post Malone, SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, Alicia Keys, Miguel, and Peso Pluma—including a high-profile headphone collaboration with Rodrigo featuring a custom EQ tuned to her sound, which he personally conceptualized.
In 2025, Jordy led several high-impact initiatives that deepened Sony’s presence across music, tech, and education ecosystems. Jordy served as the architect of the Sony Audio Institute at NYU—a 10-year collaboration with NYU Steinhardt focused on immersive learning at the intersection of music, technology, and business. He brokered a landmark partnership with BandLab, connecting Sony’s creator technology with BandLab’s 100M+ global user base to empower the next generation of music makers through integrated tools and community-driven innovation. Additionally, he spearheaded a multi-year partnership with The Recording Academy, establishing Sony as the official pro audio partner of the GRAMMY Awards.
Previously, Jordy held senior roles at Blue Note Entertainment Group (BNEG), Grey Group, and Rivet VR. At BNEG, he originated and launched the Sony Hall music venue in Times Square in partnership with Sony Group Corporation, and consulted on campaigns and business partnerships with Intel, Pernod Ricard, the European Union Government, and NHK. At Grey Group, he led PR efforts for the National Park Service’s landmark centennial campaign in 2015.
He was inducted in the Temple University Klein College of Media & Communication Alumni Hall of Fame in 2025. He has also been featured as a speaker at Drexel University, the Roc Nation School of Music, COMPUTEX Taipei, The Financial Times' Inaugural Business of Entertainment Summit, Fast Company Innovation Festival, Live Nation, Mastercard and more.
Jordy began his career in jazz publicity and radio. He holds an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a B.A. in Communications from Temple University. He resides in Western Massachusetts and New York City with his wife and son.
