Jackie Andresen is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles, California. Classically trained in violin, her unique sound blends her acoustic background with electronic elements and extended string techniques for an inventive scoring approach.
An alum of the Screen Scoring Undergraduate program at NYU, she was a recipient of the NYU Steinhardt Undergraduate Student Research and Creative Project grant to pursue the production of a string based sample library in the fall of 2022. She was additionally awarded the 2022 Composition Competition Residency with the NYU O1 Symphony Orchestra, with her composition entitled Derivation, based upon the inspiration of modern female composers.
She has orchestrated on projects including the Emmy nominated song “All About Me”, from the television series The L Word Generation Q, The Woman King (2022), and HBO’s The Edge of the Earth (2022) as a member of the Los Angeles based score preparation and orchestration company, Joy Music House. Jackie’s music has further been featured on MPATH’s album of Phenomenal Women Composers vol. 13, and her first feature Ninety Minutes Later, directed by Los Angeles based filmmaker and actress Cyndy Fujikawa, is currently experiencing its film festival run. Outside of NYU, Jackie currently assists composer Marcelo Zarvos in New York City.
