Elizabeth Marcus is associate director of Galerie St. Etienne in New York. For over 30 years, she has worked with private collectors, museum curators and institutions to build collections both nationally and internationally. Her areas of expertise include Austrian and German Expressionism, contemporary art and design and fashion photography. Professor Marcus has taught at The School of Visual Arts, Pratt Institute, and Sotheby’s Institute of Art and worked at the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has lectured widely on the history of 20th century fashion photography and the history of 20th century design.
Professor Marcus serves as co-chair of the New 42 Youth Corp Committee in support of the not-for-profit New 42 Youth Corp programs that employ and mentor high school and college students and promote diversity in arts administration.
