Anna is a doctoral student in NYU Steinhardt's Teaching and Learning Department with a focus on Science Education. She has fifteen years of experience working in education. Anna taught middle school and high school science at a Title I school in rural Arkansas and has worked as an instructional specialist and professional development leader with school districts and educational nonprofits in New York City, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Her areas of interest include teacher education, teaching the nature of science and science as a way of knowing, and culturally relevant and critical approaches to science teaching. Anna holds a BA in English from Duke University and an MA in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University.
