Oboist Dan Shengquan, a second-year graduate Woodwind Studies student, and his accompanist, first-year graduate Piano Studies student Xiaoya Gao, have been recording his recital repertoire while quarantined. Xiaoya wrote, “Music brings us so much joy, so we want to share this joy with others!” Watch the video of their performance of “Nicht schnell,” the first movement of Schumann’s Three Romances, Op. 94.

In a performance of the second movement of Poulenc’s Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano, they are joined by bassoonist Gabby Victoria. The video begins with a testimonial from one of Dan’s friends, a nurse in Brooklyn who is on the front line battling the virus and saving lives. Watch the video.
