Tara Westover discussed her educational journey and her memoir, Educated, with NYU Provost Katherine Fleming on October 29th.
In a lively exchange, Westover talked about how she moved beyond the psychological and physical abuse of her childhood and found her way to Brigham Young University.
Educated was read by all incoming students as part of the NYU Reads initiative. At NYU Steinhardt, the book was discussed in Steinhardt's New Student Seminar, as well a school-wide convocation where faculty members elaborated on the themes of resilience.
