The School climbed two spots on U.S. News & World Report's list since last year.

NYU Steinhardt is proud to announce that it earned the #6 spot in the annual ranking of the best graduate schools of education by U.S News & World Report for 2025.
The School shares the ranking in an eight-way tie with Harvard University; Northwestern University; the University of California, Berkeley; the University of Florida; the University of Pennsylvania; the University of Texas–Austin; and the University of Virginia.
For the last seven years, NYU Steinhardt maintained a spot among the top 10 schools of education in the United States.
“This rise in academic ranking reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion of our faculty, students, and staff,” says Jack H. Knott, Gale and Ira Drukier Dean of NYU Steinhardt. “This acknowledgement is not just a reflection of our commitment to excellence in teaching and research, but also a testament to the transformative impact NYU Steinhardt has on the future of education, culture, and human development across disciplinary boundaries.”
NYU Steinhardt's programs receive national and global recognition across the fields of education, communication, health, and the arts.
The 2025 U.S. News & World Report rankings are based on data gathered during fall 2023 and early 2024.
