NYU Metro Center is a member organization of the National Coalition on School Diversity (NCSD), a network of civil rights organizations, university based organizations, and state and local coalitions working to expand policies and practices to support integration. Matt Gonzales was elected to serve on the Steering Committee for NCSD, and was asked to speak to the National Education Association (NEA) as part of a new partnership between NCSD and NEA to build understanding and investment in school integration. Matt spoke about the movement for integration in New York City, and shared frameworks and definition of integration that are shaping the local and national conversations about school integration and that ground the work of the Integration and Innovation Initiative.
