He also shares stories of his time as musical director on the Arsenio Hall Show and his life long journey with Tourette's Syndrome. "I wouldn’t feel tics when I played. It’s about the energy and impulsiveness, being focused on the music, and the actual tactile feeling of my hands on the keys. I always felt like an outsider until I was a teenager and committed myself to jazz."
