As a founding member of the International Alliance of Arts Management (IAAM), program director -- and IAAM Vice-President -- Dr. Richard Maloney plays a vital role in achieving IAAM’s mission to foster a dynamic international academic community. This goal aligns with a major NYU’s strategic pathway -- to lead the world in global education and research.
At the International Alliance of Art Management 2025 Conference in Seoul from October 29 to November 2, 2025, Dr. Maloney delivered welcoming and closing remarks, participated in a roundtable, and presented “The Kids Are Not Alright: Student Support and Engagement in Arts Administration Programs.” His presentation highlighted the growing mental health, financial, and academic challenges facing graduate students today. It also showcased NYU’s extensive resources that support student success through academic, professional, and wellness initiatives aimed at fostering balance and community.
Additionally, Dr. Maloney received a certificate of appreciation from the Seoul Metropolitan Council during the conference, acknowledging his ongoing efforts to promote international exchange and cooperation in the field of arts management. His significant contributions to the development of the cultural management and policy fields are deeply valued by both IAAM members and the NYU community.
