Dr. Andrea Glenn, Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Food Studies at NYU Steinhardt, received the Malden Nesheim Nutrition Landscape Award from the American Nutrition Society for her publication in the Journal of Nutrition, “Perspective: Food Is Medicine: Hype or Hope?”
Dr. Guillermina Jasso, Professor of Sociology, Silver Professor of NYU Arts and Science, was named the recipient of the 2026 Cooley-Mead Award for Distinguished Scholarship from the American Sociological Association's Section on Social Psychology. This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of social psychology, where Dr. Jasso’s work has had wide-ranging influence and impact.
Dr. Gabriel Lockett, Assistant Professor of Applied Psychology at NYU Steinhardt, received the 2026 Jeffrey S. Tanaka Memorial Dissertation Award from the American Psychological Association’s Committee on Ethnic Minority Affairs for his outstanding dissertation, Exploring Experiences of Gender Euphoria among Black and Afro-Diasporic Transgender, Nonbinary, and Gender-Diverse Adults. He also received the 2026 Gender Liberation Award from the APA Section for the Advancement of Feminist Psychology and the Section for Advocacy of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity.
Dr. Florencia Lopez Boo, Director of Global TIES and Professor of Economics and Applied Psychology at NYU Steinhardt, won the 2026 Khalifa International Award for Early Learning Field Research and Studies. The Khalifa Award “seeks to advance Emirati and Arab educational outputs and standard of Education in all its levels by rewarding the outstanding innovators in numerous academic and learning domains.”
Dr. Robin Neuhaus, Research Associate at NYU Steinhardt, was awarded the Susan A. Hickman Memorial Research Award from Postpartum Support International, given annually to researchers advancing the field of perinatal mental health. Dr. Neuhaus’s work focuses on expanding perinatal mental health support to non-birthing caregivers, including fathers, adoptive caregivers, LGBTQ+ caregivers, and other partners who are often overlooked in screening and care.
Dr. Sophia Rodriguez, Associate Professor of Educational Policy Studies and Sociology at NYU Steinhardt, received the Eduardo Bonilla-Silva Outstanding Book Award from the Society for the Study of Social Problems for her book Undocumented in the U.S. South: How Youth Navigate Racialization in Policy and School Contexts. This award recognizes outstanding scholarship that confronts racism and structural oppression. IHDSC is proud to have been at the forefront of celebrating Dr. Rodriguez’s groundbreaking work, co-hosting her book launch in fall of 2025.
Dr. Hirokazu Yoshikawa, Courtney Sale Ross University Professor of Globalization and Education at NYU Steinhardt, was inducted as a Fellow into The British Academy, Dr. Yoshikawa was recognized for the profound impact that his research, leadership, and advocacy has had on children throughout the world.
