NYU Steinhardt Songwriting adjunct faculty member Charlie Harding is bringing his popular podcast Switched On Pop to Netflix as part of a new partnership between the Vox Media Podcast Network and the mega streaming platform. Harding and his co-host Nate Sloan will introduce Switched On Pop to a global streaming audience through weekly video episodes beginning the week of July 13. The launch shines a spotlight on both Harding and NYU Steinhardt's nationally recognized Songwriting program, which prepares students for careers in songwriting, production, and the music industry through intensive creative and professional training. Four recent Songwriting graduates appear in the first episode: Lizzy Campbell, Meera Dahlmann, Harmony Deslauriers, and Alex Puchalvert

The Netflix partnership marks the first time Vox Media podcasts have launched as always-on video programming. Switched On Pop explores the craft of popular music by breaking down the songwriting, production, and musical ideas behind today's biggest hits, helping audiences understand why songs resonate and what they reveal about culture. With Harding's expertise as a songwriter, educator, and music journalist, the series brings the analytical and creative approach that he teaches his Songwriting students to audiences around the world.
