Third-year PhD candidate in Rehabilitation Sciences Gaurav Seth received a 2025 Student Travel Award from the American Society of Biomechanics to attend their annual meeting in Pittsburgh, PA. Granted competitively to a select set of student presenters, the award was given in recognition of Gaurav's abstract titled “Exploring nonlinear muscle networks during yoga postures and functional tasks" and co-authored by Soniya Kadam, Rory O'Keeffe, Dr. S. Farokh Atashzar, and Dr. Smita Rao.
In this project, led by Dr. Smita Rao and Dr. Farokh Atashzar, Gaurav introduces a novel analytical approach to muscle activation data acquired by Soniya Kadam and Rory O’Keeffe, Gaurav's peer mentor from the Tandon School of Engineering, at the Arthur J. Nelson Human Performance Lab in the Department of Physical Therapy. Gaurav is pursuing research in biomechanics and biosignal processing in preparation for his dissertation.
