The cast album of Living with…, an original musical produced by Steinhardt’s drama therapy program in 2018, now streams for free on SoundCloud.
Living with…, staged last December as part of the As Performance therapeutic theatre series, and presented on World AIDS Day, explores the issues that long-term survivors and newly diagnosed people grappled with when confronted with the disease. Vignettes, monologues, and musical numbers examine the stigma of diagnosis, the promise of medicine, and the impact of the AIDS crisis.
The lyrics and music of Living with... were written by Brent Wakelin. The album was recorded at NYU Steinhardt’s James L. Dolan Recording Studio. Music technology student, Hammer, served as recording engineer on the project.
