Melissa Rachleff Burtt’s (Faculty) exhibition review of Brooklyn Rail's Phong H. Bui's Singing In Unison Part 13: Homage to Meyer Schapiro was published in the art history journal Panorama.

Shadi Harouni (Faculty) was included in the three-person exhibition Dissent Series: Speaking After the Body, curated by Lorenzo Lazzari for Adriatico Book Club, at Sala Veruda in Trieste, Italy.

Shadi Harouni’s (Faculty) films and new series of sculptures are included in the exhibition, If Words are to be Sounded, an international co-production between three European institutions, which opened at le Cap, Centre d'art de Saint-Fons in France.

Shadi Harouni (Faculty) delivered the first public lecture of the season at Yale Norfolk School of Art as a Visiting Artist.

Summer News of Interest

Kameirah Johnson (BFA Student) the 2025-2026 Doodle for Google National Winner for her artwork titled Hair Power: The Crown that Grows From Us. Kameirah’s artwork was featured on Google’s homepage on June 4, 2026.

Brooke Schneider (MFA Alum), Roselynn Sadaghiani (MFA Alum), and Poppy Thomas (BFA Alum) participated in a five-person ceramic exhibition, The Shape of Time, at Frisson Gallery The show closes on July 2nd.

Angelica Semmelbauer (VAA Alum) curated A View All Their Own, a group exhibition featuring twenty contemporary women artists across generations, revealing their unique process and materiality.

Chelsea Lee (VAA Student) was recently awarded the 2026 Best Student Paper Prize by the Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE). Her winning paper is titled "The Case of Frieze Seoul and Systemic Change in the Korean Art Ecosystem."
