Cathy Hung (Steinhardt PAA '92) and PAA adjunct faculty member Linda Shelton have been recognized in City & State New York’s 2025 Arts & Culture Power 100 list, which includes key figures at fine arts institutions, museums, historical sites, performance spaces, and other cultural attractions in New York.

Cathy Hung
Executive Director, New York Children’s Theater

Cathy is dedicated to fostering transformative partnerships through the arts, creating impactful programs that uplift communities. As executive director of New York City Children’s Theater, she leads one of the nation’s premier children’s theaters, inspiring young audiences through imaginative plays. She has held leadership positions at Jamaica Arts Center, Young Audiences New York, and the New York Chinese Cultural Center. Cathy is also the author of Performing Arts Administration, a widely used textbook in Asia.

Linda Shelton
Executive Director, The Joyce Theater Foundation

Linda Shelton is a renowned arts leader with over 30 years in dance administration. Formerly with The Joffrey Ballet and Twyla Tharp Dance Foundation, she’s managed major international tours and teaches at NYU. Shelton has served on prominent boards and arts panels and received numerous honors, including France’s Order of Arts and Letters. A champion for diversity and social justice, she was appointed to NYC’s Live Performance Industry Council in 2023.
